Brendan Tobin,
Head of Growth, Ecanvasser, headquartered in Cork, Ireland, has
seen the development of new ways for field staff and volunteers to
canvass potential voters, as more people are hesitant to answer a
knock on their door. With an emphasis on the possibilities
for the 2020 campaign, Brendon reminds us that canvassing is a
great way to build relationships with voters, gather and quickly
analyze critical data about what constituents are thinking, and
determine commitment of the base and how likely they are to be
persuaded. He also describes how candidates around the globe are
using canvassing apps to reach out to facilitate human interaction
wherever people gather or in high foot traffic areas where people
on the street can be queried about campaign issues as well as
neighborhood concerns.
